Cross-Mentoring Darmstadt - A programme that connects

In a nutshell

Cross mentoring is THE instrument of personnel development: management development, cross-company exchange of experience, coaching, building and expanding the right networks - all in one programme. The core of the programme is the non-hierarchical exchange between a (prospective) manager from one company and a much more experienced manager from another company.

The Darmstadt cross-mentoring programme has been running very successfully for 13 years now, with participation from over 30 local companies from the city and the private sector.

Lord Mayor Hanno Benz is the patron of the Darmstadt cross-mentoring programme.

The programme is also supported by two strong cooperation partners: HEAG Holding AG and the Office for Internal Services - Human Resources Department.


Target group

For one year, women and men in (first or prospective) management positions (mentees) are supported and encouraged by experienced managers (mentors) from other companies participating in the programme. The tandems act on their own responsibility and define their goals and measures individually.


Components of the programme

The programme starts annually in April/May and lasts 12 months.

  • Mentee and mentor meet approximately once a month
  • Supporting events to accompany the mentoring relationship
  • Peer events and cross-company exchange
  • Target group-specific seminars for mentees and mentors
  • Participation in the Cross Mentoring Darmstadt Club and Germany-wide networking


The seventh round of Cross Mentoring Darmstadt starts on 18 April 2024.
